Spring Heat by Edinburgh based artist Alice Boyle captures the burst of life, colour and energy that arrives at the beginning of spring, Boyle’s favourite time of year. The painting is created by building up layers of plaster and carving into the final surface, usually with the end of a paintbrush before it dries. Acrylic paint is then layered over the textured surface, allowing the image to gradually emerge.
