My Monsters by Scottish artist Alice Boyle shows three characters joined together, representing the possible monsters within us that we must learn to accept, understand and perhaps even love. The painting is created by building up layers of plaster and carving into the final surface, usually with the end of a paintbrush before it dries. Acrylic paint is then layered over the textured surface, allowing the image to gradually emerge.
