Goodbye by Scottish artist Alice Boyle is a positive piece about moving on from something that no longer serves you, even when letting go is difficult. It is about finding the courage to move forward and embracing a new sense of hope, possibility and freedom. The painting is created by building up layers of plaster and carving into the final surface, usually with the end of a paintbrush before it dries. Acrylic paint is then layered over the textured surface, allowing the image to gradually emerge.
