This collection reflects Boyle’s admiration for vibrant Aboriginal art. She connects to its spirituality and storytelling traditions. She is particularly interested in repetitive mark making and the meditative state it can instill. Inspired by this ancient, primal practice—first created with pigments on rock—Boyle paints on the uneven surface of rough plaster to echo its origins.
